Department of Post-1945 Political Government Agencies, the Records of the Hungarian Working People’s

a)The Department (in co-operation with the Department of Government Records Service) takes over, stores, registers, handles and processes (arranges, supplies with finding aids, publishes) records of organs of supreme power, legislative, political, social and cultural central government bodies, higher agencies of jurisdiction operating after 21 December 1944, institutions working under the supervision and management of the concerned organs, their foreign representation, central bodies and institutions of the Hungarian Working People’s Party (MDP) and the Hungarian Social Workers’ Party (MSZMP), and public bodies and funds involved in the scope of competence of the Department.
b)A research room is also available performing information and loaning services in connection with the archival material and microfilm collection stored in the Department.
